I’ve had a small touch of startitis recently. Though I had a pretty good reason for starting this project. Saturday night Kat fell asleep in my bed. After I worked my way through my wound yarn supply for Fylingdales I needed something else to do as breaking out the swift and winder was out of the question. I went looking on Rav for something small and already wound. I have a skein of Leann’s Forbidden Woolery Lush in Rosehip Tea that has tried to be two different sock patterns without love. So far im feeling the shawl love. It is Simple Things. So far so good.

Now that I finished all but the blocking on Acer it was time to start another project. Any guesses what it might be? Yup another cardigan. This time it is one that has been on the queue for a long time – Fylingdales from my most favorite book : A Fine Fleece.
I bought a two pound bump of BL-Romney in dark grey at NYSW in 2009. I spun it on the Van Eaton and plied it as usual on the electric. I have @1200 yards of yarn and am a touch concerned about running out of yarn as the pattern indicates 1400 yards. I did some Ravelry project surfing and found quite a number of folks who were on gauge but get came out with alot of extra yarn. Here’s hoping I make out the same way as I did with Rhinebeck as well.
I cast on Saturday night and am the point where the cabling starts. Weeeeee.

Last week I started yet another cardigan. This time it is Acer from Through The Loops. The yarn is Valley Yarn Berkshire in Charcoal. Feels weird to be working at such a large gauge for a sweater. The needles feel huge!!!
If I remember correctly, I started this on Thursday. I finished up the body today while on the bi-weekly planning meeting with the office. They’ve finally figured out how to use Goto Meeting properly so I can use the mic on my macbook and not tie up the telephone. Particularly since the meeting went from 10 this morning and didn’t end fully until 4:30. Ugh. Was a long and frustrating meeting as the folk in the office are incapable of not lapsing into side conversations. Makes hearing on the remote side almost impossible. Bleh.
Im going to knit for a bit and call it an early night. Just wanted to finally show Acer so she didn’t make her debut as a finished object.

…make one.
As I mentioned yesterday, I was working on a cover for my nook. I finished it last night and my nook is cozy within it. I’m tempted to add an i-cord strap to it for carrying ease. I have plenty of the oogly yarn left and am in no danger of using it for anything else. 🙂
I made some mods to the pattern and added some 1/1 rib to the inside edge to add a little snug security. As u can see I also made it envelope style and added a buttonhole.
Its ugly but does the job 🙂
