My life has always been busy. ¬†I’ve never been able to sit still and do nothing, which is why I have all these hobbies which allow me to sit, if not always still. ¬† But goodness, parenthood has given the “never dull” a whole new flavor! ¬†It is honestly never dull.

We were taking advantage of the summer preview yesterday. ¬†The twins were performing one of those rites of childhood, playing in a sprinkler. ¬†They apparently weren’t paying attention to who was running where. ¬†I heard the crack from across the yard as forehead met eye. ¬†Four hours in the emergency room for a shiner. ¬†But I wanted to err on the side of caution. ¬†I now know what to look for before running off to the emergency room. ¬†On the upside, got to spend a lot of time with Kat yesterday 
Never dull.
She’s fine. ¬†Eye was swollen shut this morning and it is even more colorful.¬†

OMG! Poor Kat! How is she taking it? My guess is better than you?! I know I would have totally freaked, and definitely the right move taking her to make sure everything was ok.

I’d do the same thing – especially since the eye area was involved.

Oh no. I hope that she’s feeling better. I’m right there with you on taking her to the ER. Knowing it’s nothing serious makes it way easier to reassure your child that it’s ok.

Oh Risa, I hope Kat is on the mend soon! Good idea to take her to the ER…always to err on the side of caution, but you already knew that!

Oh dear, that is quite a shiner. She’s lucky she *didn’t* have a concussion after such an obviously violent collision! Hope it isn’t bugging her too much.
