One Crazy Fiber Lady

Like Coming Home

November 14th, 2008 · 9 Comments

With all the sweater and other knitting recently, I’ve been seriously jones-ing for some lace. ¬†I’ve managed to fight the urge for a while now, but after finishing the mittens yesterday, I couldn’t fight the fight any longer. ¬†I spent some time perusing my lace queue at Ravelry but nothing jumped out at me. ¬†I then moved to the large pattern collection on the whole and found what I wanted to do. ¬†Adamas. ¬†Last night fortunately was SnB night and MY has a nice selection of laceweight yarn. ¬†I found me a yummy skein of Misti Alpaca Handpaint Laceweight in shades of green. ¬†Reminds me of the ranges of greens in summer foliage. ¬†Naturally I cast on immediately 🙂

Not the greatest of pictures, but the best I could do this morning on the train.  I likes it.  And it is like coming home again for this lace knitter!

Kat discovered her newly finished mittens on the kitchen table this morning and immediately put them on.  A happy kitten in her new mittens (and hat)!

And yes, she is wearing a nightgown. ¬†They have pajama day one Friday a month at school. ¬†I like those Fridays as we don’t have a fight over what to wear.

Lastly, I haven’t neglected my teacher gift knitting duties. ¬†I worked on the second bag on the ferry this morning…

The color isn’t quite right in this picture. ¬†The yarn is a darker purple in reality.

Have a good weekend! ¬†We have a birthday party at Build-A-Bear tomorrow. ¬†Yay 😉

Craft on!

Man, I’m so jealous! I wish we’d had pajama day. I count myself lucky that we’re allowed to wear jeans on Friday where I work. Jeans are my happy pants. 🙂

I’m looking forward to seeing how the lace turns out, I’m betting on the side of gorgeous.

Adamas is going to be wonderful. I like the yarn you chose.

Your girl is too cute! Her smile is radiant.

Ahhh lace! I was wondering when you’d cast on for a new lace project. I’m sad I missed SnB last night. Next week fo shiz. Kat looks so happy (and grown up!) in her mittens & hat

I like the bag you’re keeping the lace in. ;op The lace is pretty, too, hehehe

Kat looks very cute in her new ensemble! ;o)

    Pajamas to school? Kool.

I think that practice should be adopted by corporate America. Once a month we should come to work on our pj’s. On second thought, what would those of us who sleep in the buff do? The horror.

    Nice lace. ~ksp

Awww, I wear jeans to work everyday (and I bet I could get away wuith pj pants) and I miss dressing up and wearing my fancy shoes. Someday the real estate market will turn around and I’ll go back to my ‘real’ job.

I have plans for an Adamas, too! I spun the yarn already and have yet to cast on (so close to xmas and I keep starting new projects for myself instead of gifts!) but I will soon. I’m doing it as part of a Battlestar Gallactica knit-along.

I just saved the pattern for Adamas. Like a needed another lace shawl pattern taunting me.

Cat looks adorable. What is it about little girls and hot pink? Sometimes they don’t grow out of it. My 18 yo niece thinks pink is the new black. What to do with half a skein of
Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted Solid left over from Rachel’s pair of fetching (in blush pink)?

Wish I could work in my pajamas. Oh wait…I can.
