I want to thank everyone for their concern and commiseration last week. ¬†I stayed home on Friday, still quite uncomfortable. ¬†Talked with my doctor thursday night and he suggested seeing a neurologist. ¬†I put in a call to the dude he recommended and am still waiting to hear back. ¬†Whatever. ¬†Seems that while there was a migraine part of the weeklong painfest, it wasn’t the whole story. ¬†There’s a sinus component for sure (so I started taking my daily Nasonex again as it is that time of year) as well as a tension/stress piece. ¬†The fact that I wake up feeling fine and then within a few hours or so, the back of my head gets really tight leads me to believe that tension is a major problem, probably tense for fear that the headache will continue/come back. ¬†I feel this is working the same way an entrenched insomnia pattern operates where the fear of not being able to sleep prevents sleep. ¬†Vicious circle. Add in a little TMJ (I skipped the steak at dinner last night), shake well and you have one-long-assed-many-pronged-headache. ¬†I’ve chosen to ignore the whole thing. ¬†Mind over matter and all that.

Anyway… been doing the knitting thing! ¬†I finished Kat’s Princess Socks yesterday.

Cute little things eh?  One skein of Koigu KPPPM РUS1 magic loop.  Pattern is one of my own devising but is nothing really special.  Simple stockinette.  Started at the toe with 8/16st turkish cast on increasing to 44 st overall.  As for how long to make the foot?  I had a tracing of her foot on paper with lines indicating where the ankle bones are.  When the foot hit those marks, I did the short row heel down to 8 unworked stitches.  She happily tried them on last night and declared them perfect.

Yesterday I finished the first side for Town & Country and cast on for a sleeve. ¬†I’ll spare you the photo of the cuff repeat again.

26 days to go.  Maybe.

Finally, I got the cutest box bag from JessaLu’s etsy shop! ¬†

She used Amy Butler fabrics and has the cutest pulls:

I loves my bag. ¬†Go get one for yourself. ¬†I’ve got a new sock project in mine :)

Craft on!

Nice socks — I hope they fit Kat well!

Good luck getting rid of the headache. I’ve been dealing with a TMJ jaw/ear pain for a month now. Also worsened by stress! I wonder if I have any allergy component too? Hmmm, maybe it’s time to bust out with the Claritin again?

Try ice cream….a neurologist once told a friend of mine to get your favorite ice cream and eat until you get the ice cream headache and that takes care of the migraine….worked for my friend…might work for you!

Your poor head. I hope the mind over matter works. It’s a positive attitude and that ocunts for something. 26 days is plenty of time to finish T&C. It’s looking great!

I used to have migraines that were triggered by chronic sinus infections and allergies. the only thing worse than the migraine was the rebound headache. I hope the medication allieves the presssure. I know from first-hand experience that situation is no fun. ~ksp

Hot shower has always been a mainstay in my dealings with horrible headache. I hope you get full and permanent relief right quick!

All you are saying is definitely familiar to me. I’ve had the same type of problems. They come and go. I remember the worst of it was the neck pain and stiffness. If you end up having an MRI, it will be a good thing. At least you will see how everything is working, sinuses, etc. You might even be having a little bought of fibromyalgia. In any event, feel better soon!

Those socks are adorable! I’m glad they fit!

26 days is OH SO Doable! ;)

I’m so sorry about the headache. This time of year is so much worse for me for migraines. And the hangover feeling isn’t all the fun either.

I have a single skein of Koigu KPPPM that I’ve been wondering what i might do with. Peanut has the same sock issues and I wonder if that might be a good use for it. How much did you have left over? Peanut’s feet are far from slender, more along the lines of a Fred Flintstone mini-me.

Avery had a lot of problems with headaches last year and it turned out to be sinusitis.

You might want to get a neck/back rub and see if that relieves some tension. Might help if it’s a tension headache.
