How do you get tomato sauce out of fur?

September 25th, 2008 · 14 Comments

This is Duchess. You’ve seen her before, but not like this.

(you defintely want to click to embiggen)

Miss Duchess really likes tomato sauce. ¬†Then again, there isn’t much Miss D doesn’t like. ¬†She will even fight you for blueberry muffin. ¬†But you see, mom made meatballs in sauce last night for dinner. ¬†After dinner, with all the leftovers nicely in containers in the fridge, and with the dishwasher already full (and running), we left the “empty” pot on the stove while we did the bedtime routine. ¬†After getting the kids down, mom and I moved to playing Batman for a while (awesome game much like the Lego SW and Indy) waiting to finish the dishes and stuff until the dishwasher was complete. ¬†

Not to long after we finished playing, mom comes back to my room, “you have to see Duchess”. ¬†Curious. ¬†I got to see Duchess. ¬†She looked much like she does in this picture. ¬†Only oranger. ¬†She helped herself to the remainder in the pot. ¬†There was a lot of Duchess in the pot, apparently, as mom cleaned saucy footprints off the counter.¬†

Bad cat.  Wonder how long it is going to take to loose her orange glow :)

Onto the better children.  A few weeks ago, we went to a Bar Mitzvah of the son of a very good friend.  This was the first one for the twins.  Yeah, I was surprised the monkeys were invited too.  Anyway, I bought them new dress up duds and want to share how very cute they were:

When did they get to be so grown up???

Craft on!

Poor Duchess! I am assuming it will take about as long as it took Bianca to get the turkey grease (from the inside of the turkey, thank you very much) off her fur.

BTW, did you know there is a stripe down the top of a cat’s head that they cannot reach? Ever. Ask me how I know.

Well with the orange cat just think you’ll be set if she ever gets sprayed by a skunk. Is Bergan County still skunk hallow. i almost walked right into one on the way to work. Cute kids but they’re alwasy cute.

The only thing funnier would have been a pic of Duchess IN the pot! We have to put EVERYTHING away. Before we eat. Otherwise Raven will be up on the counter/stove etc trying to eat whatever was left behind…

Oh too bad you didn’t get a picture of Miss D in the pot lickin’ up the yummy orange stuff. Too funny. White wine seems to take the stains out of carpets (or does that only work to get rid of red wine stains in the carpet). Anyhoo, wonder if it would work on a cat. LOL The kids are adorable as always!

LOL! My kitty used to love to stand in a plate of tomato sauce to lick the plate clean! She had white paws and the stain does eventually wear off (after many, many kitty self-groomings!)

Both pictures are so cute! I would have loved to see the cat in the pot LOL!

Wow, your kids are really sprouting upwards!
A friend of mine had a budgie (parakeet) that flew into the spaghetti bolognaise pot one time. He survived but was a funny orange colour for a long time.

Ha Ha!! Well, that stain isn’t going away any time soon. I remember my one cat Toddy, he LOVED custard pie. I caught him once with his whole head in a pie trying to eat as much of it as he could before he was busted. :)

    The monkeys look so cute!

My sister had a white Spitz (I think Spitzes are always white) who jumped up onto the kitchen table and got into a bowl of spaghetti with tomato sauce. The majority of his face was orange for several weeks!

Hey the same thing happened to Puddy Cat. I discovered him licking the empty can of tomato soup. He had orange all over his face and paws. He got some out. I tried with a wet washcloth, then with a little soap. He did not like that at all. And he still has the stains. Goofy cat!
