One Crazy Fiber Lady

Real Post

Finally a real post, eh? Yup. I figure this might hold y’all over while I get this new home unpacked and set up as we all like it. Please ignore the boxes piled up all over. I’m dealing with them slowly as I decide where to put things. I have some ideas, now I just need the time ;)

I have definitely still been knitting though, even finished an object! This is the first FO of the year. Amazing. I finished it Tuesday of last week, I think. I need to check my ravelry info to get the real dates, but tuesday feels right. It was a super quick project.

And now that the weather has gotten cold again, I will get to wear it. Tomorrow even.

As I had a dirth of sweater projects in thin yarn on tiny needles

kauni_sleeveAutumn Rose

I started another one this weekend.  One that has been marinating in stash now for just over a year!  One that has lived just outside my bathroom door for months now and has taunted me daily from there.    Meet Dacapo!  My first Hanne Falkenberg kit.  Loves it.

This is the kit #8, black/plum/blueberry.  I took this picture this morning on the way to the office.  You probably figured that out by the presence of sunlight!

I then took this picture so as to not appear to weird, though there’s little danger of that in NYC!

How’s that for a view?!¬† And I get to see it twice a day, more if I go thataway for lunch.

Anyway, I’m tired, been hacking too late too many nights in a row now (was futzing with the iPod Touch this evening – Apple’s charging $20 for the phone apps to install on existing Touchs that will be free for new ones – really pissed me off.¬† One word.¬† Jailbreak.¬† ) so I’ll leave you with this last picture.¬† Poor Serendipity had to go to the groomer again.¬† Like the long haired females in this house, Kat and myself included, she has a knotting problem.¬† While I am able with some bribery get Kat’s knots out, sadly, Sara got too bad, too fast for me to tackle.¬† Mea culpa.

There was no alternative.¬† The sad thing is that her coat took forever to grow back after last year’s shaving (like¬† I have a clue where to find that link now?!) somewhere in December.¬† She barely had an undercoat until about October.¬† Poor thing.¬† Which reminds me, I have a bit of a knot in my hair too.¬† Time to start wearing braids like my daughter.

Craft on!

PS – I did a little hacking around with my feeds.¬† Getting auto updates from here probably will be determined by when/what feed address you used to subscribe before.¬† Check the feed setting in your reader.¬† If it has typepad, you’ll unfortunately need to update it.¬† If it is for my own domain, you should be cool.¬† Another option, not that I think I’ll be moving again {snicker – this is the third home in just over 3 years}, you could use the feedburner link as that can be changed without any pain to you dear readers.

Gosh, can’t you just give the poor thing a haircut?

Oh, and it’s your call, of course, but the category “Knitting-Adult” could kind of be construed in more than one way and could lead to some bizarro google searches. Maybe you could just categorize “Knitting” and have “Knitting-Kids” to differentiate?

(Of course, maybe that’s the exact same category you had before, too, and I just never noticed!)

Congrats on the new digs! I’m getting your feed just fine. Tell me more about the iPod Touch/phone thing…I got one for Christmas! Are you saying you can get phone installed on the Touch? Cool!

Hahaha – doesn’t begin to cover the giggles I got outta those pictures of Sarah! Poor thing. Love that sweater. Have fun with the new site.

I love when Serendipity is shaved ( does that make me mean) she looks so cute like that. You have a lot of sweaters on the needles … I am getting anxious looking at all that skinny yarn ( though the Falkenburg kits are on my longterm would love to make queue.

Oh my gosh! Poor kitty. It’s understandable why it had to be done but oh my. Doesn’t kitty get cold or do you have little knitted sweaters for kitty to wear? :) Coxy V-Neck looks great. Glad to hear it was a quick knit. It’s on my list to do.

Nice sweaters! Poor kitteh (there’s a lolcat post lurking somewhere, I know it)! The feed comes through on my Bloglines and the site is looking good, a bit austere, but nice.

Nice sweater! Can’t wait to see the new one progress. Poor little Sara… so nekkid in the winter!

P.S. I need to ask you more about parking permits and street parking…

Poor Sara! She needs a sweater! My late kitty Aggie was a long-hair, and we had to do the same thing once. After that we combed/brushed every single night….

It’s a good thing I wasn’t drinking my morning coffee when I saw those photos of your cat. Coffee would have come out of my nose, I laughed so hard. That cat must have the longest tongue in the feline world. Decapo looks so great. Now I want to get my Hanne Falkenberg kit (Mermaid) out of hibernation. See you at SnB.
BTW, I like the new blog digs.

Awww, poor kitty. I have a kitty that misses one spot when she grooms because she’s arthritic. Fortunately it’s just one mat I have to cut out occasionally.

Jan 13, 2006 was the posting of Sara’s last shave. Poor baby.
I used a sweatshirt sleeve when I has to shave rabbits in cool weather. Just cut out front leg holes and contoured from chest to tail. I may still have a few left. Call if you need them.

Poor kitty! She looks so skinny without her coat.

Not only did I crack up at the kitty pics – I showed them to the dogs. They loved them. ;o))

Hey! Found you from Chappy’s mom… poor kitty! My dogs get matty, but whoo… A friend recommended something she uses in her horse’s manes. Might be worth looking for a pet safe detangler? Are you making the kitty a sweater? Congrats on your move (I went over to wordpress in July)

Poor Sara girl. That cut looks absurd on poodles, and just sad on kitties. It’s called a Lion cut isn’t it?

Pretty projects you have going! I need to get back to knitting more. Nice new digs chica!

Your poor kitty! Will she still speak to you? I think mine would disown me forever if they had to be shaved. Fortunately, they’re short hairs and don’t tangle. Though it probably feels nicer not to be matted up…

I love your colorwork. I drool over it every time I come to your blog. Small yarn and tiny needles is probably worth it in the long run, as it’s just gorgeous.

Good luck settling in to the new house!

Oh the indignity! Poor bald kitty :)
