…or the equivalent:
I started, needless to say, last night. I did the knitting maths to figure out how many repeats around the motif would go, how many stitches were left over and what should go where. I then set about knitting.
I did opt for the Dale inspired cuffed hem, which is the yellow bits you see. It transitioned to the green just as I finished and worked the turning row. I can’t say as I’m ecstatic by that green, but better at the hem then my face!
In case you’re curious, as I was, about the color progressions, someone put together a bunch of graphics displaying the alignment results. Super cool. If I’m reading it correctly, I’m doing something entirely different as my color progressions are opposite. One is working Yellow –> Green –> Blue –> Purple–>Red–> Orange and the other is Orange –> Red –> Purple blah blah. Interesting. I wonder how it will play out. I might just have to much with that graphic a bit and see if I should move along or correct it before I get too much further along. I guess that as long as the colors don’t line up I should be fine.
And a close up…
Love it!
Craft on!

Edited to add: I have to rip back. I’ve got a big problem(s) colorwise and it is pretty glaring even in this terrible image.

…I’m still working up the courage to order the yarn. After Rhinebeck I’ve been put on a short leash.

Money is stupid.
Sucks that you have to rip back but at least it’s glaring at you now and not 8″ into the body…right?

That would be my one issue with this, getting those colors worked out to line up (or not) just right. I’m with Jess though, at least you know now and not later. And I’m keeping myself on a short leash too after the new wheel, no matter how much you may tempt me!

This sweater is blowing my mind! Hope you don’t have to do any more ripping.

I’m working on a lace shawl with the same Kauni color way and I must warn you… I had several knots in my balls of yarn and the color ways would jump from one thing to the next skipping a color or 2. In one ball I have 3 sets of the yellow green, 1 each of the blue dark green and red purple… no orange at all. So I cut a piece out of the other ball so that I would have at least one 1 orange transition in there too…
