What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island.  Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

Well that Quiz just pegged me right.  Unless of course I happen to be talking with someone with a different regional accent.  I pick ‘em right up.  Always have.  Worries me that others might be thinking I’m making fun of their accent, but honestly, I can’t help it.  Makes it hard that the feller in the cubicle next to me is from the south!

Hopefully a real update post tonight.  I have finished objects to report on, progress to show, and "before" shots of the house as construction begins this week.  {shudder}

Craft on!

    I came out as the notheast too. I even lived in the south for 3 years. Didn’t pick up a thing.

    But the construction will ultimately be GOOD!

    Oh, I’m sooo with you on that unintentionally adopting the accent around me. Quite helpful in French or Spanish class but like you said, I worry others might find it objectionable.

    Good luck with your construction! It’s a bitch. But you’ll love it when it’s done.

    Oh thank goodness it’s not just me. I have always picked up those accents too.
    Anyway, the construction won’t be that bad, at least all of the worry will disolve when you see the final product.

    I do the same thing with picking up accents… but I don’t worry about it anymore. It is the same “bug” in my brain that makes learning languages for me so easy. If someone comments on it, I tell them that I can’t help it and that copying/mimicking is the greatest compliment there is LOL.
    I just took the test too and I’m 100% from the Northeast LOL… which is funny as my brittish coworkers tell me I sound from the South… and even funnier as I’m not a native english speaker hihihi
