While I do work for a clothing retailer, working in an office you’d think the opportunity for shopping would be greatly reduced. Forgetting, of course, the whole internet shopping thing. Normally this is the case with the closest store either a 15 minute walk or a subway ride away.
Today was a great exception. There were plans to open a new store, not the major brand, but a new brand, the first two stores of which opened in August and only in Texas. Well seeing as home office is in NY, there were a great number of us who didn’t know the product line. Rumor has it, that this third store, while having the stock ordered, wasn’t going to open afterall. Soooo, they decided to have an employee only sale in the conference room. Prices were minimally 50% off the ticket price, but as the day went on, the CEO would announce better deals upping the ante to buy 3 lambswool sweaters and you’ll get 75% off, or a blazer, cords and a sweater = 75%. That sale was today. I stocked up and even picked up a few holiday gifts.
How’s this for a haul: 5 lambswool crewneck sweaters, one wool/cashmere blend sweater, 5 button down shirts, 2 long sleeve cotton tees, 1 short sleeve tee, 3 tanks, 3 pairs of cords, 1 pair cargo pants, and 1 shirt
I got some excellent buys and now I’m set for the winter!
Now that I’ve managed to find drawer and closet space for all this, I’m going to settle down for some Wednesday spinning activity. I’m working on the Pink Cadillac roving from Crown Mountain Farms that I picked up not too long ago.
I’ve broken the length of roving up into one yard long segments and randomly split the pile into two. Now, I just pick a length, also at random, and spin that. I must be channeling Kat when I order fiber these days, what with all the pink!
Speaking of Kat, she decided that she wanted to wear her halloween costume tonight. Figures I was able to get it on her. Sorry though that I didn’t get any pictures of it but it has turned into play dress. At least it wasn’t at total waste.
Craft on!
