Depends on how you look at things. I have a number of active projects right now and they all seem to be at some halfway point.
- sundara calla lily socks: halfway through the leg portion on the second sock
- schaeffer anne socks: dead even halfway point. One sock complete and the other is waiting to be cast on.
- Dale monkey sweaters: the major knitting is done for Alex’s and awaiting the digging out of the sewing machine. One sleeve is done for Kat’s. Another half.
- koigu socks: halfway through the foot of the first sock
- alpaca shawl: reborn from ripping out the leaf lace and now half through the 14 repeats of the building chart of the swallowtail shawl. (btw, homey still doesn’t do nupps but will ignore them when I get that far)
I’m not entirely sure what to make of all this half stuff. Maybe that’s where my attention wanders and I am compelled to start something new.
We’re oh-so-close to the milestone now but haven’t quite hit it. Good thing as I wasn’t able to make it to Modern Yarn last week. Mom was recouperating from a bout with bronchitis and after a full day alone with the shorties was done for. While I pouted for a short time, I understood and took charge of my lego weilding munchkins. I did knit after they went to bed and finally finished the body for A’s sweater. I am going this week and will buy prizes then, stash just wouldn’t do for this now would it?
On a completely unrelated note, if anyone has a late model minivan could you give me some feedback as to your likes/dislikes/etc on yours. I’m comparison shopping for when my lease on the stupid Durango ends in November. The front runner right now is the Sienna.
Craft on!

I have friends with a Sienna and they swear by it. It’s almost embarrassing how much they love that car. Other friends have them too and seem to like theirs quite a lot.

That sweater is fantastic – and it looks more than half done to me.

My sister in law has three kids under 4 and they have the Sienna. She has been nothing but thrilled with it.

I have a 2003 mercury villager van. Is that late enough. I like it but I’m not very fussy with cars. It rides more like a car then my jeep did. Plus you can fit over ten fleeces in a mini van just incase your at a good sale.

No minivans for me … but, Toyotas are fabulous cars. We’ve had several in the family, and they are very reliable cars.

Gave up on the idea of a Volvo wagon, huh?
Hey, I have a bottle of Devacare low-poo and conditioner that are too orangey-scented for my tastes. Interested?

We have a 3 year old Sienna and love it. Terry’s exact words I believe were “not that bad” – and while she hardly thinks it’s a chick magnet (much to her chagrin), it’s a great car for hauling around 2 kids and their stuff. Including mobility equipment (which most don’t need, but it says something).

We’re on our second mini-van and love this one! 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. The only thing we don’t have that I would almost kill for are those in the floor storage bins, other than that, “Earl” is perfect. The double sliding doors really do make a difference, the dual climate control (front/back/driver/passenger)is lovely, the sound system totally rocks. The seats are easy to remove but a bit heavy for just one person. I could go on and on about it but you get the idea.

We bought the Sienna 2 years ago (when #3 was born). By way of disclosure, I am not, in any way, shape or form, a minivan fan. Give me a smallish sedan any day of the week, but current demands don’t permit that. I say this in hushed tones, but I am not a huge fan of the Sienna. The body is long, making it hard to park, though it does have a tight turning radius. For all Toyotas are rumored to be wonderful, we have had our share of maintenance issues with it. Having said that, it does have its place for piling the family plus ‘rents into its filthy interior and heading out in relative comfort. And the trunk is larger than most minivans — but with only two kids, you can put the backseat down more or less permanently.

That sweater looks awesome!
As for mini-vans, I know nothing. Except this: The Chrysler Town and Country, it’s the Cadillac of minivans!
RR says it nonstop since my sister bought one. Non. Stop.
