An update from the Olympic village, well my house rather, where we are having a blizzard, thankfully we won’t be shovelling this snow. These snowflakes, unlike the PITA kind, are identical (Oh please let no one find something to tell me otherwise) I’m halfway through that second repeat of the snowflakes. This means I’m done with the armhole shaping, as well as the alternating of the two color oranges. From hereon, it is black and the lightest of the
oranges. Sweet. Rough estimate, 22 rounds remaining and they’ll be shorter as I start the neck shaping. I should have this part done tonight or at the latest tomorrow. This will give me the rest of the week to sew, snip {cringe}, and knit attached i-cord around the edges. Will probably take me longer to do the attached i-cord than any piece of this. I so dislike i-cord. While I didn’t make as much progress as I would have liked, I do have way less dirty laundry.
My Ingeborg kit arrived Saturday as promised. Such quick service! I would definitely order from them again. I don’t dare open the box yet. It is sitting sealed near the sweater pack stash. I can’t touch it until the vest is done and Klaralund is well under way. There was a little voice in my head that whispered something about the Baby Ull sweaters that I was planning for the twins. That little crazy voice is what gets me into trouble. It likes to start new projects, not to mention toss a monkey wrench into the established queue. It also has a way of forgetting why we bought a particular yarn. I was sitting on the couch the other night and noticed a pack of Rowan Wool Cotton in my current fav color of brick red and I can’t for the life of me remember why I bought it. I might have to do a little blog reconnaissance to see if I mentioned it. I sure hope I did. I think that’s the first sign the stash is too big. <g>
Here’s the kitty zen for today. An action shot for a change. After I took this picture, my eyes quickly registered the pink bit in it and couldn’t figure it out. I went looking at her to see if she had a bit of yarn stuck to her whiskers. Yarn ‘ho indeed.
Craft on!

I have missed kitten zen!!
HAHA I am so good, and YOU are so good, there you are well past 1 repeat of the snowflakes just as I knew you would be!
I had no luck on my hat, I don’t have circulars the right size so I gave up trying to magic loop it.
I wish you lived near me, I would have you come to one of my knitting soiree’s and you could help me freakin knit some fair isle.
Im jelouse of your vest but in a good way, I love that orange. Have you tried it on to see if the length is okay? I saw those scarey pics on the KAL blog.. EEK!

About the brick Rowan….maybe it was some you bought because it was on sale and being discontinued last year? Cause I remember I went and looked at it online when you mentioned it ….

Wow that vest is looking sharp! Why bother with why you bought the yarn. The question is what to knit with it NOW!
Wait..you are not opening the package? is that really fair to the supplier? Dont you OWE it to them to open, fondle, examine every square inch and properly appreciate what they sent you? I mean, I’m just saying…what if it was so good that you had to have more?!

I agree with Elaine, open that box and if the voice says to get started on a new project, then do so. You are such a fast knitter that you will finish all your UFOs in short time . I think you might have inspired me to start my first color project.

I couldn’t stand not opening the package just to see the yarn and finger it and look at the colors. You have such discipline!!!!
The vest is looking grand!! The snowflakes are such a great touch to finish it off. Can’t wait until you finish it up. Did you find a zipper for it?
Happy knitting.
Sara is such a cuty!!!

WOW! WOW! WOW! My jaw dropped when I saw the picture of that vest – I had to make myself read what you wrote & stop looking at the picture! It is amazing!! (if anyone finds an error, ignore them!)
I know how you feel with the projects. I have to play little games with myself to make myself finish one thing before starting another.
Thanks for the tip – post to blog WHY you buy a certain yarn…that way when you forget, you can look it up in blog. I can so see myself forgetting why I buy yarn!!

Oh boy – your vest is looking better and better! I’d better not show DH it cos he might want one – he loves anything in orange and the thought of having to knit it in an XXL with extra length scares me!
But my size?
Your stash is amazing. I am most impressed.
